Justin Hall (’15) Promoted to Mental Health Attorney, Office of the Public Advocate, Maricopa County, AZ

February 21, 2020

Congratulations to Justin Hall (JD ’15), who writes with exciting news about his promotion:

I am working at the Office of the Public Advocate as a Mental Health Attorney in Maricopa County, Arizona. My office represents juveniles charged with criminal offenses, parents and children in dependency and severance matters, and people facing court order mental health evaluation and treatment. The people I defend are alleged to be a danger to themselves or others, persistently or acutely disabled, or gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder.

I’m very excited about this promotion. While I am a member of the California Bar, I have been working as a law clerk with Maricopa County, Arizona since August of 2019 while awaiting my Arizona bar license. Coming to Arizona was a unique opportunity to research and write about fascinating issues of the law to better broaden my understanding of mental health law practice. I now have the wonderful opportunity to work in a fully-renovated hospital designed for adult psychiatric treatment in an underserved community. One step towards being the best public servant and trial advocate!
