TJSL Students Take Second Place in America’s Finest City Mock Trial Competition

Our students recently took second place (number 2 out of 16 teams) at the America’s Finest City Mock Trial Competition. Congratulations to Phil Cavello, Patricia Tagufa, Denice Barnes and Sarah Sullivan (pictured in the photo from left to right). There were 16 teams competing, and our TJSL students beat teams from: University of Arizona, Pepperdine, and North Carolina. We lost in the Championship Round to USD. This was Phil Cavello’s last competition as he is graduating in December. The other team members will continue to compete for TJSL. Special thanks to TJSL alumni coaches Lucas Hirsty and Jessica Coronado. As always, the work of head coach Professor Lilys McCoy is unparalleled.
