New Attorney Swearing-In Ceremony

June 5, 2019

The State Bar of California held its San Diego swearing-in event at the Marriot Marquis on the waterfront and welcomed new attorneys to the profession on June 4, 2019. Presiding Justice Judith McConnell of the California Court of Appeal and Federal District Court Judge Dana M. Sabraw officiated the ceremony, which included justices from Court of Appeal and judges from the Federal District Court for the Southern District of California.

Our own Lilys McCoy, Director of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Center for Solo Practitioners, Director of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law National Trial Team, and San Diego County Bar Association President, offered warm words of encouragement to the new minted attorneys about the wonderful and rewarding profession they are now a part of.

Thomas Jefferson faculty and staff attended the ceremony to cheer on and honor TJSL graduates as they raised their hands and swore their oaths as they transitioned to attorneys and counselors at law.

Congratulations to all TJSL alumni who passed the February 2019 California bar exam! Photos: Aiden Firouzi takes his oath; Professor Blair Matsumoto and new attorney Jamie Majerus; Professor Michele Berger with new attorney Martha Youssofi; and new attorney Elias Nawaey.
