Professor Lilys McCoy Sworn in as President of San Diego County Bar Association

On Thursday, December 6, TJSL Professor Lilys McCoy was sworn in as President of the San Diego County Bar Association at the Association’s Stepping Up to the Bar event at the New Children’s Museum.

Joining her were a large number of faculty colleagues and administrators, including Interim Dean Linda Keller, President Karin Sherr, Associate Dean Susan Bisom-Rapp, Professor Steve Berenson, Professor KJ Greene, Career Services Director Jeff Chinn, Adjunct Professor Bud Klueck (member of the SDCBA Board of Directors), and Reference Librarian Isabel Eustaquio. Also present were TJSL alumni who are leaders of the bar, including Marc Adelman (past President of the Board of Trustees of the State Bar of California), Renee Galente Stackhouse (past President of the California Women Lawyers), Danna Cotman (President of Lawyers Club of San Diego), Vas Hanumadass (former President of the South Asian Bar Association), Yahairah Aristy (President of the Earl B Gilliam Bar Association), Lorena Slomanson (former President of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association), Helen Rowe (past President of Lawyers Club San Diego), Brian Findley (President of the TJSL Alumni Association), and Melissa Johnson (sworn in that evening as a new member of the board of the San Diego County Bar Association).  A number of Professor McCoy’s students were also in attendance.
