Honoring those who served has become a tradition at TJSL and the 8th floor was filled with individuals honoring our active duty and military veterans on Monday, November 11. 2013.

“Our Veterans Day celebration and networking event was particularly important and beneficial this year because our student body is comprised of many active and prior servicemen and service women,” said SVA Faculty Advisor Professor Leah Christensen.

The event took place in the conference room with the American flag placed front and center.

“In addition, this event was co-sponsored by both our Student Veterans Organization and the Veterans Bar Association,” said Professor Christensen. “The Veteran’s Bar has several TJSL alums as board members and the group has been very active in the community supporting veteran’s rights and working with our Veterans Self-Help Clinic here at the school. The event was a wonderful opportunity to have our current students meet and talk with alumni who are doing great work in our legal community.”

The ceremony was a fitting way to honor TJSL’s military, on this 2013 Veteran’s Day.

“Eric Schneider, a 3L and President of the Student Veterans Organization, and Patrick B. Long ’10, Esq., an attorney and alumnus of the school, and Veteran’s Bar Board Member, were responsible for organizing this event, added Professor Christensen. “Attorney Long is also a member of TJSL’s Solo Practice Center.”
