TJSL Students and Alumnus recognized at SDRLA Scholarship Fund and Gala

On December 14, 2024, 4 TJSL students were awarded scholarships during the SDLRLA Scholarship Fund Dinner and Gala, held at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. TJSL Dean, Dawn Dekle, was in attendance, and she said, “I was so proud of our students receiving these scholarships. All of the recipients are involved with our campus chapter of La Raza and are very active members of our learning community. It was a beautiful night of celebrating them and we made memories together that we will cherish forever. TJSL thanks SDLRLA for their support of our students and we look forward to doing more in Year 2025 with SDLRLA.”
At the same event, TJSL Alum Lorena Slomanson received the Service to San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association Award, which celebrates individuals whose exceptional service, leadership, and commitment have significantly advanced the mission and values of SDLRLA. This honor recognizes those who exemplify dedication to the Latino legal community, uphold the highest ethical standards, and work tirelessly to promote diversity, justice, and equity. Lorena has dedicated her career to advancing access to justice. Her many accomplishments include serving as President of SDLRLA and serving on the board of SDLRLA, where she strengthens the relationship between SDLRLA and the Legal Aid Society of San Diego.
