TJSL Alumnus Lizbet Muñoz celebrated at her judicial installation
January 8, 2025
What a wonderful way to kick off the New Year! Professor Linda M. Keller was honored to attend the formal installation of Commission Lizbet Muñoz (TJSL ’99) to the San Diego Superior Court on January 7, 2025. Judge Muñoz reflected on her experience at TJSL, attending part-time after believing law school was not in the cards for her. Judge Muñoz would share with her old self and current students the realization that “my path doesn’t need to be straight, it just needs to be mine.” Her incredible journey to the judiciary, including serving the community in Legal Aid, family law and as an esteemed Commissioner, is truly inspiring. Other TJSL folks joining to celebrate Judge Muñoz included Lali Villavicencio (TJSL ‘90), Professor Emeritus Bill Slomanson, his wife Ana, and his daughter Lorena Slomanson (TJSL ‘03). Judge Muñoz joins many other TJSL alumni on the bench who make incredible contributions to public service.
