Octavia Carson (3L) secures U.S. Justice Department Honors post/ChangeLawyers 3L Scholarship!
April 13, 2020
Octavia Carson (3L), who presently serves as editor-in-chief of the Thomas Jefferson Law Review, writes with very good news. First, Octavia has accepted a position with the U.S. Department of Justice Executive Office of Immigration Review through the Honors Program. She will be working for the Board of Immigration Appeals starting in September. This is a two year commitment and the Honors Program is the only way that graduating law students may begin working with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Second, Octavia received a California ChangeLawyers 3L Diversity Scholarship. She was one of 24 3Ls selected out of hundreds of applicants nationwide. The scholarship specifically provides resources to students who are committed to public interest and social justice in the State of California. Students receive financial support, bar exam support, and career mentorship from the California ChangeLawyers Foundation.
Congratulations, Octavia, for all you have accomplished! You continue to enrich our community with your exceptional work.
