Major Law School Tech Conference coming to TJSL in June

May 9, 2012

Center: Adjunct Professor Catherine Deane

More than 300 law faculty, librarians and tech staff from 100+ law schools will descend on Thomas Jefferson School of Law June 21 – 23 for the 22nd Annual Conference for Law School Computing (CALI).

“I received a very nice acknowledgement and invitation from John Mayer, President of CALI,” said TJSL Dean Rudy Hasl. “This is a great opportunity to showcase the building and what we have done with technology.”

“I want to thank Thomas Jefferson School of Law and Dean Rudy Hasl for co-sponsoring the 22nd Annual Conference for Law School Computing this June,” said Mayer.  “We are delighted to be bringing hundreds of friends and colleagues to see your stunning new facility. I expect that folks will be wowed by what you have accomplished and the highly aesthetic appointments that adorn your law school.”

At the conference, two keynote speakers from the education technology world will present and more than 50 sessions will provide a wide variety of ideas, innovations and education for attendees.

Three members of the TJSL community will also present at the CALI conference: Web Application Developer Patty Ramert will talk about the development of an in-house program to correctly format faculty scholarship for the website; Adjunct Professor Jennifer Cooper will explain how to make the most of TWEN; and Reference Librarian Catherine Deane will demonstrate the use of TJSL’s learning centers and how they are used to teach legal research in the library.

Dean Hasl has been invited to formally welcome attendees to the conference on Thursday, June 21, at 9 a.m. before the first speaker.
