Professor Starros, a career prosecutor with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, has been a Deputy District Attorney since 1999. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Western Statue University College of Law, Fullerton.

During her career as a prosecutor, Professor Starros was one of two Domestic Violence prosecutors in Imperial County, for three years. During the last two of her years in Imperial County, she was the only Domestic Violence Deputy District Attorney for Imperial County. As the Domestic Violence prosecutor for the county, Professor Starros helped write the VAWA grant, and completed multiple speaking engagements for local law enforcement agencies, and Domestic Violence clinics / agencies.

As a San Diego County Deputy District Attorney, Professor Starros also prosecuted Domestic Violence cases while assigned to the North County Branch of the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.

During her career as a prosecutor, Professor Starros has additionally prosecuted several high profile cases, including homicides.

Professor Starros is currently assigned to the Insurance Fraud Division of the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, where she is a vertical felony trial attorney. In addition to her case load, Professor Starros was an instructor at the California District Attorneys Association Fraud Symposium in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Ms. Starros also presented at the 2017 Workers’ Compensation Fraud Forum at the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, and was a speaker at the Southern California Fraud Investigators Association Convention in 2018.

In addition to her case load and speaking engagements, Professor Starros also supervises the Insurance Fraud Division’s Certified Legal Interns/Graduate Law Clerks, and is the Peer Support Team Coordinator for the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.

Outside of work, Professor Starros is a member of the Enright Inn of Court, and SAG-AFTRA.
