Study Abroad In France With Our Summer Law Program

One of the most exciting opportunities at Thomas Jefferson School of Law is the option to participate in our study abroad program in Nice, France. Study law in one of the few cities in the world that rivals San Diego for both climate and beauty.

The program is in cooperation with the Universite Cote D’Azur. It is the only summer program among California law schools located on the French Riviera. The Nice Summer Law Program is designed to encourage students to experience international law in a vibrant city on the French Riviera, to exchange ideas with students, and to explore cultural differences that influence international business and legal transactions.

The program runs for three weeks from late May through early June, permitting students to combine the Nice Summer Law Program with additional summer classes in San Diego. The Summer Law Program enables students to potentially accelerate their graduation or take an internship or externship during the remainder of the summer.

The program provides in-depth study of specific issues in international and comparative law. Courses have an international focus and often compare American and European approaches to law. Classes are taught in English.

Students may take up to two classes with an international focus, earning four units toward graduation. Time is built into the schedule to explore the city and surrounding areas, including Monaco and Italy, both of which are just a short train ride away.

The study abroad program is open to all TJSL students who have completed at least one semester of classes and who are in good academic standing. All eligible students are encouraged to apply for this unforgettable experience.
