A Special Message to Our Students from Dean Joan Bullock

Published: August 11, 2017

Welcome New and Returning Students!

It is with excitement that I welcome you to the new academic year.  As the new President and Dean of Thomas Jefferson School of Law, I bring with me over 30 years of experience in the legal academy.

I am a strong proponent of innovative and adaptive legal education.  The success of law graduates hinges on their ability to discern and navigate the shifting tides of the legal market utilizing a resourceful and proactive approach.  Thomas Jefferson School of Law’s robust curriculum, coupled with a supportive, hands-on faculty strong in teaching and scholarship, provide the substantive foundation and thought leadership permitting its graduates to differentiate and promote themselves in the legal marketplace.

From my years of leadership in the ABA Law Practice Division and the ABA Section of Science & Technology Law, I bring with me the vision of a legal education that harnesses the power of technology to produce—not merely practice-ready attorneys, but 21st Century practice-ready attorneys.  As an ABA-accredited, AALS member law school, Thomas Jefferson School of Law is readily poised to make this vision a reality.
