TJSL’s Barristers Ball 2014 to take place on the USS Midway on February 14th

“For those who have not attended in years past, Barristers Ball is the SBA’s annual awards ceremony and reception honoring students, faculty, staff and alumni,” explains SBA President Milena Celentano.
Tickets for the February 14th Barristers Ball were priced at $65.00. This includes a four course meal, drinks, live music, deejay and dancing, a free photo booth, opportunities to speak with USS Midway Docents, access to the ship’s hangars and flight deck, admission to the after party at the Hard Rock Hotel, drink specials and discounted hotel room rates.
“TJSL’s Barristers Ball is something that sets us apart from other Law School’s,” explains SBA Public Relations Director Andrew Halbert. “It is so much more than a “Law School Prom.” It is an opportunity for the entire law school community to come together and celebrate our achievements in a fun and formal setting.”
Throughout the evening awards are handed out for:
- 1L, 2L and 3L Professor of the Year
- Adjunct Faculty Member of the Year
- Staff Member of the Year
- Student Organization President of the Year
- SBA Appreciation Award
- Lewis and Clark Award for Innovation and Dedication
- Thomas Golden Alumnus of the year Award
- Charles T. Bumer Civil Libertarian Award. Nomination forms can be picked up in the Student Services Office. Nomination deadline is Tuesday, February 11 at 5 p.m.
The party on the USS Midway will run from 6:30 – 11:00 p.m. with an after party at the Hard Rock Hotel located only a few blocks away from the Midway at 207 5th Avenue, San Diego, 92101.
This year, included in the price of the Barristers Ball ticket is entrance to the after party at the Hard Rock Hotel. “This includes drink specials at club 207,” explains SBA Social Events Director Michelle Ribaudo. “We also have negotiated a discounted rate to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel on the night of the event. To receive the discounted rate, just reference promo code BARRISTER. This is going to be a really great event and we encourage everyone to come and celebrate the accomplishments of our faculty,staff, students and alumni.”
Check-in and cocktail hour on the USS Midway begins at 6:30 p.m., the Awards Banquet and dinner begins at 7:45 p.m., the D.J. and dancing on the Midway will run from 9:15 – 11 p.m. and the After Party @ 207 will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel.
