New TJSL Alumni Board Sworn-in

The new Thomas Jefferson School of Law Alumni Board was sworn -in by Dean Rudy Hasl on Wednesday evening, January 18.
The new president is Renee Galente ‘08, Eric Ganci ’08, returns as vice -president and Lorena Slomanson ’03 will also serve as vice-president. (See the roster below)
“I am very proud of what the Alumni Association Board accomplishes every year,” said Galente. “I think last year we did an excellent job showcasing TJSL’s remarkable new building and helping to solidify the school as a presence in downtown San Diego with high quality (sold out!) CLEs and with a new program focusing on community outreach, (C.O.R.E.) This year, I’d like to keep that momentum going while also strengthening the alumni’s connection with the current students. These students are the heart and soul of the school and I believe it is our duty as alumni to provide them with the benefit of our experience and to work in conjunction with the school to help them achieve their goals.”
At the meeting, Dean Rudy Hasl, Associate Dean Beth Kransberger and Associate Career Services Director Randy Reliford welcomed the new board and gave an overview of the innovative programs at TJSL. The board discussed the upcoming slate of exciting activities, such as the two Padres Tailgate & Game events on April 7 and September 29 and the annual Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament that will be held October 5 at the Rancho Bernardo Inn.
“I am enthusiastic about our upcoming year,” said Lorena Slomanson. “Our board has the energy and vision necessary to continue supporting the association’s mission- to foster a mutually beneficial relationship between TJSL and our alumni. This year, we look forward to reaching more alumni around the country and world and supporting them with innovative programs and opportunities.”
Jeremy Evans ’11 attended his first alumni meeting as a board member. “Getting sworn in as a Director on the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors provided a sense of accomplishment,” Evans said. “It was an honor to be among distinguished alumni and being a part of the greater mission to continue building the Thomas Jefferson School of Law name and what its law students and graduates have to offer our communities.”
