Fazaga v. FBI: Surveillance and Secrets Under the Obama Administration

Ahilan T. Arulanantham, Deputy Legal Director of the ACLU of Southern California, will be giving a presentation at TJSL on Thursday, November 8 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. in Room 325.

Mr. Arulanantham's talk is entitled, "Fazaga v. FBI: Surveillance and Secrets Under the Obama Administration." Ahilan T. Arulanantham will discuss the rise of the state secrets doctrine through the lens of Fazaga v. FBI.

Fazaga is a challenge to the FBI’s policy of widespread surveillance on the Muslim communities in Southern California. Details of the FBI’s program were revealed when an FBI informant went public, describing a disturbing policy of dragnet FBI surveillance on the Muslim community that had gone on for years.
